> 1) Did we ever figure out why the bike eats fuses?

I've never had to replace a fuse.

> 2) What was the final decision on the best exhaust/carb set-up?

After doing the "white spacer" trick, mine runs great for the commute to work or a 300 mile ride. I've never had to adjust the carb since.

> 3) Which oil was the least likely to leak out?

I prefer Castrol GTX 10w-40. I've always used this in all my bikes; it's cheap and easy to find, and I've never had any engine problems. Maybe it's my imagination but on some bikes it has lead to better shifting than other brands I've tested, like Pennzoil or Quaker.
I don't believe in wasting money on synthetics or "motorcycle-specific" oils - just change regularly - it only takes 15 minutes.

> 4) Who markets the best accessories for/adaptable to the Savage?

No one seems to make much. I've put on saddlebags and a small Meier windscreen; that's it.

>5) Are Hogryder and I the only members here that actually prefer Harleys to metric bikes(any metric)?

I like all bikes, be they Japanese, American, or European. I can't justify spending $10,000+ US for one motorcycle though; I'd rather have two or three good used bikes at a couple thousand a pop and then spend the difference on riding gear, travel time, etc.

>6) In case no other members care about any of this, what do ya'll say to trying another get together?

Sounds good - though probably too far for me to ride too.
